SickleCell SAKSHAM Rajasthan Foundation
The term, sickle cell disease, refers to a group of inherited blood disorders. People have sickle cell disease from birth. It occurs when a person inherits one sickle cell gene from each parent.
Sickle cell disease primarily affects those of African ancestry, but can also affect those of Hispanic, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian descent.

We believe that the road to changing the sickle cell narrative is through developing key partnerships with the sickle cell and medical communities.
By connecting individuals and families living with sickle cell to one another, to knowledgeable and compassionate medical care and to education that increases community awareness, we believe we can help to improve health outcomes that also improve and enhance quality of life.
Our Mission
To advocate for people affected by sickle cell conditions and empower community-based organizations to maximize quality of life and raise public consciousness while advancing the search for a universal cure.
